Job Summary
The ABA Clinic Insurance and Billing Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of insurance verification, billing, and collections for an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) clinic. This role ensures that the clinic's financial processes are efficient and compliant with relevant regulations while providing excellent service to clients and insurance providers.
Key Responsibilities
Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits for ABA services.
Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies in a timely manner.
Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any billing discrepancies.
Maintain accurate records of billing and payment transactions.
Communicate with clients regarding their insurance benefits and out-of-pocket costs.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other relevant laws.
Assist with the development and implementation of billing policies and procedures.
Work closely with clinical staff to ensure accurate coding and documentation of services.
Provide training and support to staff on insurance and billing processes.
Stay updated on changes in insurance policies and regulations affecting ABA services.

Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred.
Relevant certifications in medical billing or coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) are a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in insurance billing and coding, preferably in an ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) clinic or similar healthcare setting.
Proven track record of managing insurance claims and reimbursements.
Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of ABA services and related insurance policies.
Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding specific to ABA therapy.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding healthcare billing and insurance.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in billing processes.
Proficiency in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interaction with insurance companies and clients.
Responsibilities:
Process insurance claims and ensure timely submission for reimbursement.
Resolve billing discrepancies and respond to inquiries from insurance companies.
